Euvin Naidoo

Euvin Naidoo is Vice President- Banking, at Standard Americas, Inc. Standard Americas is the US arm of the Standard Bank of South Africa, South Africa’s largest bank by market capitalisation. Prior to moving to the USA, Euvin was a part of the investment bank at Standard Bank within the Acquisition Finance Group (AFG) based out of Johannesburg. AFG is a specialized team focusing on acquisitions with Black Economic Empowerment transactions being a particular focus. A graduate of the Harvard Business School (MBA),Euvin was co-President of the Social Enterprise Club at HBS which examines the intersection of the private, public and non-profit sectors.

Prior to joining Standard Bank, Euvin was a consultant at Mckinsey & Co., for several years. His personal focus on development and public-private partnerships has seen him work with Technoserve (investment in grassroots community projects) in Mozambique and with New Profit Inc, (the venture philanthropy pioneers) in Boston. Post graduation from Business School he remained at Harvard to work on a series of projects: he co-wrote the Harvard Business School case “Nelson Mandela, Change Leader” with Harvard Professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter. The case examines the leadership lessons of Mandela in the public sector and how these can be applied in the boardrooms of for-profit companies. The case formed part of the research base of the South African chapter in the Businessweek Bestseller, “Confidence” which examines corporate turnarounds. Post this project, he joined ex-Asst. Secretary General of the United Nations, John Ruggie and his team, at the Center for Business & Government at the Kennedy School of Government, focusing on Corporate Responses to HIV-AIDS in emerging markets. This initiative culminated in a multi-stakeholder conference in Cambridge, MA, where stakeholders gathered to investigate synergies that exist across various sectors, regions and industries. Euvin currently resides in New York City.
